[The Ichi (Zaichi)] Editorial Department Recommends! Goldfish Day Special
The Ichi editorial team recommends a special page where our site staff selects the most seasonal products for this season, regardless of brand. Every year, March 3rd is not only Hinamatsuri (Girl's Day), but it's also Goldfish Day. Why, even though it's not even summer? During the Edo period, goldfish were sold from mid-February to early March because of the custom of displaying goldfish bowls on a tiered display stand. Goldfish have been popularly farmed for ornamental purposes since the Edo period. The Ichi continues to create a variety of merchandise incorporating goldfish, a beloved symbol of summer in Japan, into its designs.
