Description
Hasami ware is a type of ceramics that began in Nagasaki Prefecture in 1600, shortly before the shogunate moved to Edo, by Korean potters brought back by the lord of Omura Domain. Large quantities of tableware for the general public were already being produced during the Edo period, and even today, Hasami ware is still popular for its durable, everyday tableware. Well-known pieces include the "Kurawanka Bowl" and the "Complaint Bottle."
