Introducing a new hairpin, a collaboration between Kutani ware artist Shinichi Ishihara and wargo. This hairpin features a round, cute plum blossom in three colors, depicted in soft, three-dimensional detail and in vibrant colors.
Kutani ware is a traditional Japanese craft that is known for its bold and vivid paintings. Shinichi Ishihara, a contemporary artist who continues the tradition, has handcrafted this traditional yet charming hairpin. The back features a watermarked rose design by Kanzashi-ya Wargo.
Designer's thoughts
"The four seasons of Japan are expressed in the form of Japanese flowers in Kutani ware."
It took about a year to carefully select Japanese flowers and create the design.
Using ceramic stone quarried in Ishikawa Prefecture, each flower is carved using the thin-walled carving technique and then painted using the traditional Kutani ware overpainting technique.
First, I expressed it using flowers in autumn and winter.
The flower hairpin was created with the hope that it would add a touch of elegance and cuteness to your hair, whether you are wearing Japanese or Western clothing.

| Characteristics of Kutani ware | Shin-Kutani ware is a delicate traditional craft. It may break if excessive force is applied or if it is subjected to strong impact. Also, since each piece is painted by hand, there will be individual differences. |
| Shaft Features | Although it is made of brass, the stem is flat, so you need to be careful with the amount of force you use. If you use too much force, it may bend or break. For those with long or thick hair, it is recommended to insert it into a half-up style or tied up, or as a second hairpin for a hairstyle. For those with shorter hair, it can be inserted into braids, etc. |
*You can use just one to tie up your hair.
*When using, please hold the shaft gently.
