Ceramides are the main component of intercellular lipids, essential for the barrier function of the stratum corneum, the surface layer of human skin. Rice bran ceramide replaces lost ceramide, retains moisture in the stratum corneum, and protects the skin from external stimuli, preventing dryness and roughness and keeping skin moisturized.
