Mansaku chopstick rest - Miume

Sale price¥2,090

Description

This chopstick rest is modeled after the traditional decorative knot "ume-musubi" (plum knot).

It has a moderate sense of weight, and if you look closely you can see that the cute snake's head has eyes carved into it.
The plum knot is a tight knot that is difficult to untie, and so it is imbued with meanings such as "strong bonds" and "longevity," making it an auspicious motif perfect for celebrations.
