Description
Introducing new colors! Introducing original tsumami kanzashi, made using the traditional Japanese technique of "tsumami zaiku," available only at Kanzashiya Wargo.
Kanzashi (ornaments) decorated with tsumami-zaiku (hand-crafted ornaments) have long been used as hair accessories for traditional Japanese clothing, including the flower hairpins (maiko kanzashi) that adorn the traditional Japanese hairstyles of maiko (apprentice geisha), adding a touch of elegance to updos worn with kimono. This set of two 10-comb-type flower hairpins is perfect for side ties. It's perfect as a focal point in any hairstyle. The set features a single, plump red and white plum blossom, layered with white and red fabric. The red plum blossom features tassels on both ends, while the white plum blossom features beads. These can be worn alone or as side accessories when the main flower hairpin (hana kanzashi) is a little lacking. Their small size makes them perfect for everyday wear. They also look great with updos, such as yukata. These traditional tsumami kanzashi are unique to Wargo, adhering to tradition while emphasizing modern innovation.
Designer's thoughts
Wargo has crafted its original tsumami kanzashi using the traditional Japanese technique of tsumami zaiku. This set of 10 combs features a large, layered plum blossom motif made from two colors of fabric. The large, layered plum blossom motif features three rows of pearls and beads dangling from it, sparkling like morning dew, while the smaller, layered plum blossom motif features dangling tassels and bells, creating a charming design. The beaded dangles can be removed using a lobster clasp or combined with other kanzashi, allowing for a variety of styles and styles. The bells at the base of the tassels are special bells used in a musical instrument called a gungur, creating a unique finish. These kanzashi are perfect for a variety of occasions, including coming-of-age ceremonies, weddings, and parties, as well as everyday wear with yukata and kimono.
