Description
Introducing new colors! Introducing original tsumami kanzashi, made using the traditional Japanese technique of "tsumami zaiku," available only at Kanzashiya Wargo.
Kanzashi decorated with tsumami-zaiku (hand-crafted ornamental hairpins) have been used as hair accessories to complement traditional Japanese clothing, including the flower kanzashi (maiko kanzashi) that adorn the traditional Japanese hairstyles of maiko, adding a touch of elegance to updos worn with kimonos. This gorgeous tsumami kanzashi features a generous amount of pure white and yellow gold decorative cords, with a large bow tied in the shape of a butterfly fluttering down, lured by the scent of white plum blossoms. It comes with 20 comb-type pieces that are easy to attach to the sides or back of your hair. Simply adding these to your styled hair will make your kimono look many times more elegant. These traditional tsumami kanzashi are unique to wargo, adhering to tradition while emphasizing modern innovation.
Designer's thoughts
Wargo has created an original tsumami kanzashi using the traditional Japanese technique known as tsumami zaiku. The butterfly, tied with a gold cord reminiscent of a sacred rope, is drawn to the fragrant plum blossoms in this romantic, oversized design. The bell at the end is a special bell used in a musical instrument called a gungur, giving it a very unique finish. It can be worn alone or paired with other kanzashi for a gorgeous look. This kanzashi is perfect for formal occasions like coming-of-age ceremonies, weddings, and parties, as well as everyday wear with yukata and kimono.
