Description
Introducing new colors! Introducing original tsumami kanzashi, made using the traditional Japanese technique of "tsumami zaiku," available only at Kanzashiya Wargo.
Kanzashi (ornaments) decorated with tsumami zaiku (hand-crafted ornaments) have long been used as hair accessories to complement traditional Japanese clothing, adding a touch of elegance to updos worn with kimono, including the flower kanzashi (maiko kanzashi) that adorn the traditional Japanese hairstyles of maiko. This flower kanzashi set includes two pairs of plump, round camellias, one large and one small. The larger tsumami kanzashi is adorned with a yellow gold decorative cord for a glamorous look. This 20-comb kanzashi is easy to attach to the sides or back of your hair. Simply adding it to a fully-tied hairstyle will make your kimono look many times more elegant. The 10-comb tsumami kanzashi features a single, small camellia and pearl beads. Recommended for accenting hairstyles, such as side ties. These traditional tsumami kanzashi are unique to Wargo, adhering to tradition while emphasizing modern innovation.
Designer's thoughts
Wargo has crafted its original tsumami kanzashi using the traditional Japanese technique of tsumami zaiku. This set includes 20 combs and 10 combs, each featuring a motif of budding camellia buds, just about to bloom. The large, striking camellia flowers, combined with gold cord, create a festive design reminiscent of a shimenawa rope, while the smaller camellias feature pearls that sparkle and sway like morning dew. While perfect as a set, they are also recommended for simple use on their own or paired with other kanzashi for a more glamorous look. These kanzashi are perfect for formal occasions like coming-of-age ceremonies, weddings, and parties, as well as everyday wear with yukata and kimono.
