Description
This single hairpin is based on the traditional flat hairpin, but has a modern design with an openwork pattern of chrysanthemum motif.
A flat kanzashi is a hairpin with an earpick-shaped base and a flat circular ornament. The ornament features an openwork pattern based on the traditional Japanese chrysanthemum crest. The carefully crafted crest has a thick outline, making it a simple yet striking flat kanzashi. The front and back have a matte finish that exudes warmth. The sides are polished to a glossy finish, adding texture to the finish.
Designer's thoughts
This traditional flat hairpin features a traditional floral family crest. The chrysanthemum is often considered the national flower and a symbol of nobility. It is based on the chrysanthemum crest, beloved since ancient times and used as the family crest of the Imperial family. The handle is engraved with a pattern reminiscent of a vine. The slightly shorter handle makes this hairpin perfect for quickly tying up short hair or adding just a little more volume.
