Description
Introducing original tsumami kanzashi (hairpins) made using the traditional Japanese technique of "tsumami zaiku" exclusively at Kanzashi Shop Wargo. Hairpins made with tsumami zaiku have been used as hair accessories to complement traditional Japanese clothing, including the flower kanzashi (maiko kanzashi) that adorn the Japanese hairstyles of maiko, adding a touch of elegance to updos worn with kimonos. This set of four tsumami hair accessories features delicate small cherry blossoms.
This bundle of cherry blossoms in full bloom is arranged for a balanced look. A ribbon-like mizuhiki string is attached to the back of the cherry blossoms, creating a more elegant and delicate impression. The large kanzashi has a snap fastening at the back, making it perfect for Shichi-Go-San kanzashi for three-year-olds with thin hair. The U-pin cherry blossoms can be inserted anywhere you like, creating a charming look that complements any hairstyle. The silk is meticulously cut and pinched, and the pieces are lovingly crafted by skilled artisans. The smaller kanzashi has a flap for a more formal look. They can be worn as a set or individually as hair accessories with yukata or kimono. These traditional tsumami kanzashi are unique to Wargo, adhering to tradition while emphasizing modern innovation.
Designer's thoughts
Wargo's original tsumami kanzashi (hairpins) are crafted using the traditional Japanese technique of tsumami zaiku. This four-piece set features small, blooming cherry blossoms. The snap fastening at the back makes it easy to use for those new to kanzashi or for three-year-olds with thin hair for Shichi-Go-San. The delicate size of the small cherry blossoms bound together makes them perfect for adding a touch of style to a yukata or kimono. The thin, strip-shaped silver plates, called ginbira, sparkle in the light, creating a gorgeous, faint jingling sound with every movement. The bells are special bells used in the musical instrument called gunguru, resulting in a unique finish. The elegant fabric, crafted from pure silk, is perfect for decorating Shichi-Go-San, a special occasion that only comes around once in a lifetime. These versatile kanzashi can be worn with updos under traditional Japanese clothing, or paired with braids for a modern look.
