Description

Introducing original tsumami kanzashi (hairpins) made using the traditional Japanese technique of "tsumami zaiku" exclusively at Kanzashi Shop Wargo. Hairpins made with tsumami zaiku have been used as hair accessories to complement traditional Japanese clothing, including the flower kanzashi (maiko kanzashi) that adorn the Japanese hairstyles of maiko, adding a touch of elegance to updos worn with kimonos. This set of four adorable tsumami hair accessories features large plum blossoms.

The plum blossoms are designed with a round, charming impression, and are arranged to be worn balanced on both sides. Leaves and mizuhiki strings are adorned behind the plum blossoms, creating a more vibrant and lively look. The large kanzashi has a three-pin fastening at the back, making it perfect for Shichi-Go-San kanzashi for three-year-olds with thin hair. The U-pin plum can be inserted anywhere you like, creating a charming look that complements any hairstyle. The pure silk is meticulously cut and pinched, and the pieces are lovingly crafted by skilled artisans. The smaller kanzashi has a flap for a more formal look. They can be worn as a set or individually as hair accessories with yukata or kimono. These traditional tsumami kanzashi are unique to Wargo, adhering to tradition while emphasizing modern innovation.

Designer's thoughts
Wargo's original tsumami kanzashi (hairpins) are crafted using the traditional Japanese technique known as tsumami zaiku. This set of four flower kanzashi features blooming plum blossoms, creating a charming, rounded impression. The snap fastening at the back makes them easy to use for those new to kanzashi or for three-year-olds with thin hair during Shichi-Go-San. While the plum blossoms are large, the overall design is compact, making them an ideal accent piece for yukata or kimono. The thin, strip-shaped silver birra glitters in the light, creating a dazzling, soft clanging sound with every movement. The bells are special bells used in the instrument called a gunguru, resulting in a unique finish. The elegant fabric, crafted from pure silk, is perfect for decorating Shichi-Go-San, a special occasion that only comes around once in a lifetime. These versatile kanzashi can be worn with updos under traditional Japanese clothing, or paired with braids for a more modern look.
