Description
This single hairpin has an antique finish and is based on the motif of a celestial globe, a model of the celestial sphere used to observe the positions and orbits of the constellations.
This hairpin features a complex celestial globe, a small orb representing the Earth surrounded by several metal rings, deformed and transformed into a decorative ornamental piece. During the Renaissance, the celestial globe was known as a symbol of wisdom and knowledge. The two rings representing the orbit of the globe are designed to spin when swayed. The result is a combination of precision and playfulness, characteristic of Wargo. The retro and warm finish is an antique design, each piece meticulously crafted by artisans. It exudes a somewhat fanciful, steampunk-esque atmosphere. The durable brass shaft makes it easy to wear even with long hair, and it can be worn alone. This hairpin complements any season, whether you're wearing it alone or with a kimono.
Designer's thoughts
A celestial globe, a tool used to show the movement of the stars, has been transformed into a nostalgic, steampunk-inspired hairpin. The celestial globe, which has a history of being an important tool for determining the position of the stars and also developed as an educational tool, was created in ancient Greece around 255 BC. Its appearance, also seen as a symbol of wisdom and knowledge, is imbued with the romance of ancient Greece, which was closely associated with astronomy. Based on an actual celestial globe, this hairpin is designed with a spinning mechanism, giving it a playful feel. This hairpin is intended to immerse you in a romantic mood as you gaze upon the celestial globe and the stars floating in the night sky, and feel the long history of astronomy.
