Description
We have made a single hairpin using natural stones that have been known since ancient times as power stones and are said to have effects depending on the purpose.
A simple wooden shaft features a charming bell and a translucent natural stone tassel. This kanzashi evokes a subdued elegance without being overly flashy. The generous, rounded silhouette features a charming natural stone paired with a refined, lustrous tassel. Each kanzashi comes in five distinctly Japanese colors—Kokihi (Deep Scarlet), Kyomurasaki (Kyomurasaki), Hisui (Jade), Konjo (Indigo), and Shuiro (Vermilion)—each expressing a distinctly Japanese aesthetic. The long, non-slip wooden shaft makes it easy to style even thick hair. Its simple design also creates a beautiful, balanced look when layered with other kanzashi. The overall muted color scheme complements casual attire, kimonos, and yukatas, regardless of the season.
Designer's thoughts
This kanzashi (hairpin) exudes a Japanese aesthetic, combining traditional Japanese gemstones with tassels dyed in traditional Japanese colors and bells. While simple, the lustrous natural stones, tassels, and ethnic bells evoke the elegance of the ancient capital of Kyoto. The vermilion color uses carnelian, the Kyoto purple color uses amethyst, the jade color uses citrine, the deep blue color uses blue agate, and the deep scarlet color uses rose quartz, creating a luxurious look. This design can be enjoyed in a wide variety of arrangements, from beginners to advanced users who prefer layering.
