Description
The Yukiakebono Series features the motifs of pine, bamboo, plum, and snow, which are considered symbols of good fortune .
Inspired by the elegant image of a snowy dawn, these chopsticks feature a striking depiction of falling snow and pine trees, illuminated by the morning sun in gold. Wajima Urushi Chopsticks are crafted without a base coat, using synthetic resin paint for the undercoat and chopstick heads, with a top coat of natural lacquer. The top coat is applied by hand by Wajima artisans, and the chopsticks are finished with lacquer on all surfaces, including the part that goes into the mouth and the chopstick heads, giving them a luxurious feel. While the base coat is omitted, these chopsticks are extremely lightweight, making them perfect for everyday use. The design uses Takasago powder, a gold-colored material vacuum-deposited onto pure silver. The coarse silver powder catches the light and sparkles. The unique changes in texture that occur with use are a delight to enjoy. These chopsticks make a perfect gift, as well as a personal item.
