Description

Introducing the original single tsumami hairpin, made using the traditional Japanese technique of "tsumami zaiku," available only at Kanzashiya Wargo.

Hairpins decorated with tsumami-zaiku have been used as hair accessories to complement traditional Japanese clothing, including the flower hairpins (maiko kanzashi) that adorn the traditional Japanese hairstyles of maiko, adding a touch of elegance to updos worn with kimonos. This single-piece hairpin features the traditional tsumami-zaiku technique and is easy to wear in everyday life. It features plum blossoms of different sizes in pastel pink and blue. The petals are made of organdy, which gives a light, sheer impression depending on the light shining through. The bottom is decorated with pearls of different sizes, transparent drop beads, and yellow gold tassels, giving it plenty of volume.
You can use it by itself, or pair it with other large kanzashi for a more elegant look. This traditional tsumami kanzashi is unique to Wargo, and it adheres to tradition while incorporating modern innovations.

The stem is made of durable and easy-to-handle brass, so even those with thick hair can easily style it all with just one. It can be used on its own, or paired with other large kanzashi for a more glamorous look. This traditional tsumami kanzashi is unique to Wargo, adhering to tradition while incorporating modern innovations.

Designer's thoughts
Wargo has created an original single-strand tsumami hairpin using the traditional Japanese technique known as tsumami zaiku. This small yet striking single-strand kanzashi features three-colored plum blossoms, sparkling pearls reminiscent of morning dew, and a gorgeous tassel. Recommended for those who want to incorporate tsumami zaiku into their daily lives and want to try a traditional-style kanzashi. This kanzashi is easy to coordinate with not only everyday wear like yukata and kimono, but also formal occasions like coming-of-age ceremonies, weddings, and parties.
